It’s WV Landowners vs. MVP in Charleston this Wednesday.

The federal court hearing on MVP’s motion for immediate possession will be Wednesday, Feb. 7. This hearing affects about 70 West Virginia landowners who have refused to sign MVP easement agreements, including many in Monroe and Summers Counties. If you can, please plan to attend!

MVP claims “irreparable harm” if it doesn’t gain access to begin cutting trees and starting construction. Attorneys for landowners make the case that MVP will NOT suffer irreparable harm. No trees should be cut and no construction begun until legal challenges to the pipeline have been resolved.

The stakes just got higher. Last week, MVP also asked FERC for permission to proceed with construction along more than half its route through Monroe County. The 13-mile section runs from Wayside past Greenville to just north of US-219 in Lindside. Many landowners who are resisting the taking of their family property for corporate gain are in this targeted section.

Come show your support! This is the time for respectful support of neighbors and friends who are standing up for the property rights of all West Virginians.

Although the hearing will be fairly technical, several landowners are expected to testify. The hearing is open to the public. You can enter and leave the courtroom as you want.

AT THE THIRD STOP LIGHT, TURN RIGHT ONTO QUARRIER STREET (ONE-WAY STREET).

CONTINUE ON QUARRIER STREET THROUGH SIX STOP LIGHTS.

AT THE SEVENTH STOP LIGHT (TRUSLOW STREET), TURN IMMEDIATELY RIGHT INTO THE CHARLESTON TOWN CENTER PARKING GARAGE.
