King Coal Community Screening

September 16 @ 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Two young children dancing in front of coal mines

On September 16th from 6:30-9:30 pm, the POWHR Coalition will host an outdoor community screening of King Coal at the Springhouse Community School (144 Silver Maple Ln, Pilot, VA 24138), about 20 minutes from downtown Floyd. RSVP here.

We invite you to bring some food to the venue and we will serve you free popcorn. After the screening there will be a conversation on the film and our fight to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline, facilitated by local reporter Laura Saunders.

Please bring a chair or blankets to the screening! Parking is available at the event. RSVP here.

Note on accessibility: there is a wheelchair ramp to get up to the slight hill where the outdoor screening will take place. If it is raining, we would use the great room indoors and that space is wheelchair accessible.

Note on Covid-19: The screening will be outdoors as long as the weather holds up. If it rains, we will move indoors. If we are indoors, we recommend testing beforehand and masking during the screening. We will provide masks.
