The Virginia State Water Control Board has set the meeting to consider the Section 401 water quality certification for the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline. We, the people, need to show up and again raise our concerns, voicing the need to protect water!

The meeting is scheduled for two days in Richmond. If you made made oral or written comments during the public comment period, you will have an opportunity to sign up to speak to the board under the board’s policy for public participation (sign-up in the morning).

If you did not provide comments during the public comment period, you are still encouraged to attend the meetings. Join Water Protectors from across the country to stand strong in support and solidarity.

From DEQ’s press release:

“The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality will present a summary of the public comments it received and will make its recommendations to the board on the proposed additional conditions at each meeting. Also at each meeting, the board may approve, deny or amend the recommendations.”
